DIGITAL COLLAGE, 2014-2018
It started as a way to create small-scale, self-referential instagram art. Or rather, as a way to utilize instagram as the source, the medium and the platform of presentation. Between 2014-2018, with the layout tool in the instagram app, I would create collages based on either a single account, hashtag search or proximity in my feed.
With social media, we consume imagery at such a fast rate that we invariably mix everything into an amalgamated memory: a loose and ephemeral understanding of a temporal experience.
Using my personal instagram handle (changes), as well as @mixoflovelyillusion, I offered this possibility of visual layout. As some point my social media accounts were hacked and I either lost or deleted my non-personal feeds.
